Eh well you know, I kinda get it. Hip hop is a culture that started as a black thing. Even though all my friends were different colors growing up, and we all talked/dressed the same, I still understood that, which is why I always felt like there were just certain boundaries. I never said “nigga” and I never got corn rows lol cuz I felt like certain things you just don’t do when you’re not black.
I just figured I would just do me, and be real, and if people thought that was fake, then fuck em!
but nowadays people talkin about cultural appropriation and that concept confuses me a bit cuz im like, how much of this is part of a culture and how much of this is just perpetuating stereotypes? Cuz then it kinda feels contradictory, you feel me? Was me saying “you feel me?” acting black?
Eh. Makes my head hurt. I’m just gonna continue to do me and give hugs and make my money, bruh.
